The program engages the community, the municipality, public agencies, academia, and companies in a transformation process based on a three-stage cycle: (1) Participatory Cleanups (2)Tactical Public Space Activations (3)Design of Permanent Public Space.
The program is being implemented from October 2023 to October 2024.
WHAT IS IT?
"Quilicura Clean and Safe" is a social-environmental program led by Ciudad Emergente in collaboration with Google and the Municipality of Quilicura. Its aim is to transform illegal dumpsites and informal solid waste disposal areas into clean and safe public spaces.
The program's main goal is to trigger a transformation process by engaging new stakeholders in a public-private-civil society alliance through the implementation of participatory urban innovation methodologies.
The stakeholders involved in this process include: Metropolitan Regional Government (GORE); Universidad Finis Terrae; Environmental Governance Board of Quilicura including: Las Torres Association, Kula-Kura Wetland Observatory, Quilicura Socio-environmental Resistance, Ecosocial and popular collective of Quilicura, Ngnen Corporation, Reintegrando Humedales; Educational institutions including: Escuela Luis Cruz Martínez, Liceo Alcalde Jorge Indo, Liceo Complejo José Miguel Carrera, Liceo Bicentenario FBB, Escuela Ana Frank. Companies from Governance Board such as: Oxiquim, Parque Arauco Premium Outlet, Icestar. Advanced Design Innovation Center (CINNDA).
