Sociologist, PhD, London School of Economics and Political Science MSc in Urban Planning, Columbia University New York Sociologist and Journalist Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile
She has participated in urban public policies since 2000 as part of the advisory council of the Ministry of Housing and Urbanism, as a professional in the Urban Development Division of the Metropolitan Regional Government of Santiago, and as a member of the executive secretariat of the National Council of Urban Development. She was part of the group of international experts who contributed to the policy units by raising proposals and reflections for the Habitat III conference of the United Nations. Her vision complements socio-spatial analysis with a political reflection on social cohesion, citizenship, and justice. This perspective has been present in the initiatives she has led, aimed at encouraging the participation of social organizations in urban development, the planning of public spaces, citizen dialogue around the territory, and the analysis of urban public policies and regulations.
She is a teacher and researcher at the School of Anthropology of the Pontifical Catholic University and has previously been part of the Institute of Sociology at the same university. Her academic work has been published and featured in international journals, conferences, books, and newspaper articles. As a journalist, Rosario conducted a series of interviews with architects and is currently developing a literary project aimed at connecting children with their cities.
